Um, off the top of my head…I like how people have been talking about criticism lately. That’s interesting, except when it’s boring and frustrating. I like micropublishers a lot. I like pamphlet comics and serialization. I dislike Kickstarters that don’t provide line item descriptions of how the money will be spent, though I guess I understand why people choose not to do that. But I respectfully disagree in most cases. I like how many different cartoonists seem to be doing their best work right now and how diverse that work is. I like that many cartoonists are actively working to pull in influences from outside comics. I don’t know how many of those things qualify as trends.
Non-comics things…I have a job that I like ok. I enjoy reading books and learning languages (I speak French and Arabic and try to keep them in practice, daydream about one day starting Chinese). I try to exercise sometimes.
