OPEN SUBMISSIONS NOW for an anthology of poetry comics made by and for people processing impending ecological disaster.
There is a need for art that answers the pain of the anthropocene. This anthology will be a place to collectively confront the horror of a warming world: to mourn or dream or rage; to offer words of comfort or share the numbness of an uncertain future; to celebrate the world for what it is, and to mourn for what it is becoming.
+ Individual submissions: Between 1 and 8 pages, full color
+ Deadline for pitch: February 27
+ Final pages due: April 17
+ Compensation: We are absolutely committed to paying contributors and offering contributor copies, but right now we aren’t sure what that will look like.Different people have different ideas of what “poetry comics” means. We encourage as wide a conception as possible—don’t let the term keep you from proposing the work you think would fit well with the anthology.
Please email pitches or questions to climatecomicsanthology@gmail.com. Pitches these can be words, pictures, or both. Multiple pitches are encouraged.
