Over the past six months, @madeleinewitt and I have worked with 19 cartoonists from around the world to make something we’ve longed for: an anthology of comics that speak to the grief of climate change.
It’s a book of poetry comics full of grief and pain and fear and hope. Madeleine and I painstakingly curated a book that reflects a lot of what we’ve felt ourselves—celebrating the fragile beauty of the world as it is, and mourning in confusion and pain and fear for the ways it’s changing. We have needed a book like this to exist for a long time. We think other people need it to exist, too.
We’re printing the book through Kickstarter, and the campaign launched today. You can check on our progress here. The book will be full-color, paperback, 112 pages long. It’s 16 comics by 19 writers and cartoonists, including Warren Craghead, Alyssa Berg, Caitlin Skaalrud, and Maggie Umber.
We’re really proud of this book and excited for people to read it. Much love and thanks to our contributors, without whom this project would not exist.
