Like many artists, I worry about how much work I’m making now and how much work I might make in the future as my life changes in ways I cannot predict. Not long ago I came upon an idea that helps me see this worry from a different perspective. Like many good ideas, it is very simple.
Every year, I will publish a comic called Yearly. Some years, this comic might be a luscious, full color collection of carefully edited work. Other years, the comic might be a simple, dashed off eight page mini. Both endeavors are equally important to me. I just want to keep making comics forever, and I think this approach will help me do it.
Yearly 2018 is a 72 page collection of six strips and a new, continuing story called Ghosts. I tried to make it dense and full and diverse. I tried to let the stories talk to each other.
