I want to say a few words about Christina Tran’s It’s Ok That It’s Not Ok. I was lucky to talk with Christina as she was starting to work on this book and see several drafts of it. She recently sent me a print version of the first chapter. It came out really well.
Just look at this page, which is my favorite from the first chapter:
There are several pages like this throughout the story. Pages that are formally inventive but still narratively compelling. The book breaks down some simple ideas in a thorough, creative way. It’s emotionally sure of itself. Christina serializing the story here. You should read it.
In other news, the reading list above might give you some sense of what I’m working on lately. Maybe I’ll have more to say about that soon.
Finally, I’m serializing a new story on Instagram and Twitter as a part of the 30 Days of Comics challenge. I wrote a bit about 30 Days of Comics and my plans for it this year on Comics Workbook.
