Yes! I’ve read a bunch of manga lately.
- Reread all my Yokoyama books. Travel is the best but they’re all so good.
- Pink by Kyoko Okazaki. I like how fast and loose it’s drawn; it’s interesting how that sometimes works really well but some panels are off the mark completely.
- Paradise Kiss by Ai Yazawa (not done yet). I’m very into shoujo generally of late, especially because I read almost exclusively shonen stuff growing up.
- I got two Leiji Matsumoto books in Japanese for my birthday, excited to dig into those.
The way I draw is definitely less overtly manga-ish than it once was. In some ways I think I’d like my stuff to be more manga influenced?
