A quick summary, for you and for myself, of what I’ve been up to this year.
- I finished redrawing Ghosts and posted the full story online. It’s nice to have a large chunk of recent work online. It had been a while, strangely! You can also, as of today, buy a PDF version of the story that includes an afterword and some process images.
- I drew and published Yearly 2022. Five years into this project and I’m still enjoying it. A 48 page set of stand-alone stories this time. It’s interesting to look back at my original post about Yearly, which still articulates my motivations reasonably well.
- I started co-hosting Off Register, a podcast about comics. We’ve published two episodes, have a third recorded, and we might do a “best of” episode soon. It’s fun.
- I did few translations of old interviews with Dominique Goblet and Fabrice Neaud (pts 1 and 2 with part 3 coming…sometime, maybe??)
- No writing for TCJ! I have a few broad ideas in mind, kept meaning to pin them down in writing, but never got to it. Maybe soon.
Like everyone, I’ve been reminded by recent events of the unpredictability and unreliability of social media sites. I’ll still be using Instagram occasionally and I’m toying with revisiting Tumblr too. Otherwise, you can find me here and on the Bubbles Zine Forum, where I’ve recently enjoyed posting recently.
I spent the second half of the year drawing two new, long comics. I’m planning to serialize one of them via newsletter beginning early next year. So sign up for that!
